Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities, and they are the benchmark commonly used for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

What we have done

  • Text alternatives for images and accessible names for links, buttons, icons and embedded content.
  • Labels for form fields so they can be used with screen readers and voice control.
  • A “skip to main content” link, page landmarks and a clear, visible keyboard focus indicator.
  • Full keyboard operation of menus and controls.
  • Pinch-to-zoom is never disabled, and animations are reduced for visitors who request reduced motion in their device settings.
  • Regular automated testing of the site against WCAG 2.1 AA.
